Chicken10843, you said two months ago that you wouldn’t count gays as healthy brained people. I would like to understand from you if you understand what it means to be gay. I am gay, and it was a discovery, not a choice. I am similar to everyone anywhere outside of my bedroom. It doesn’t matter who we love, it matters that we love. It saddens me to see so many people clouded with ignorance and fear over others who differ in one thing but are the same in everything else.
But I voted. And I voted Yes on 8.

Yeah, but despite what some people say you wouldn’t have to watch 3 gay people having sex in the street. All this is about is giving people the right to marry and have families. I also find it a little gross but I feel the same way about threesomes. And why is a woman sucking a guy’s **** less disgusting than 2 men loving eachother. Legal gay marrige would encourage adoptions and lesson homelessness because except for sperm banks, gay couples would have no other choice for having kids.

Having a problem with homosexuality is not necessarily based on religious reasons (or deep-seated homophobia). And by assuming that it is, you are doing the exact same thing (stereotyping and profiling). Some people, religious or not, just think that homosexuality is disgusting. I’m not taking sides, just stating fact.

Honestly, this shouldn’t even be an issue. It’s absolutely ridiculous. We’re a modernized country, and we still have problems like this. We’re supposed to be leading the world in progressive advancement, yet we’re lagging behind in several key areas, this being one of them. 2008 people… soon to be 2009.
This is ridiculous. I must ask: what are YOUR consequences if a gay couple were to get married? Apocalypse? No, wait, it’s just gays getting married. Is it really that intolerable that people who love each other want to be together and have the same rights as married heterosexuals? It’s preposterous to deny them that right, that is simply not our call. Let them live the lifestyle they have chosen, and let them have the same rights as any other couple who commits to each other.
Just be glad it got passed.
For starters the Right to Marry… Even though domestic partnership covers almost all rights that come with marriage, they still miss a lot. To have two separate institutions with the same idea to separate two types of people is called segregation. Prop 8 is a cancer to society. The yes campaign was dirty and lied to the people.

if theres more important issues, then why the hell would people care so much if gay people get married? i agree we have lots of issues going on right now, but the yes on 8 campagin put so much time, money and effort into taking away a right that people allredy had. and FOR WHAT? everything was fine. the yes on 8 people are the ones who wasted their time to take away rights from a group of poeple who did NOTHING to them.
